(Author’s Note: This game has been flexed to Sunday night.)
The Seahawks will have their hands full trying to slow down a dynamic Cardinals offense led by quarterback Kyler Murray. Fresh off a bye week, this game will tell us a lot about Seattle this season in a winnable game.
Let’s take a look at the key match-ups in this contest:
DeAndre Hopkins vs. Seahawks Secondary
There is no denying DeAndre Hopkins’ talent at the wide receiver position. Seattle has struggled to cover wide receivers this season, so this is a great match-up for Hopkins.
The way Seattle can slow down this dynamic Arizona offense is to contain and put pressure on Kyler Murray. Murray makes this offense what it is, and if the Seahawks can get pressure consistently, then it will help the defense on the back end trying to cover these talented Cardinals receivers.
Hopefully, Seattle can get star safety Jamal Adams back from his groin injury. The Seahawks have came out and said they are taking Adams’ injury one day at a time. I would say there is a 50/50 shot that Adams suits up this week, and there is no doubt that the Seahawks need him.
Russell Wilson vs. Kyler Murray
Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray have very similar play styles. Both quarterbacks are smaller than the typical NFL quarterback, but both of them can win your team football games.
Wilson vs. Murray will definitely result in lots of exciting plays. It sounds simple, but this game will come down to the quarterback who can make more plays. Both teams are centered around their signal caller, so the battle of Wilson vs. Murray is for real.
This should be a very exciting match-up, to say the least. Lots of points will be put up in this one.
Battle in the Trenches
The Arizona Cardinals are surprisingly great at running the football. Currently, they are ranked fourth in the league in total rushing yards per game at 161 yards, just behind the Baltimore Ravens. When you think of the Cardinals offense, their rushing attack isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds lead the Cardinals in their rushing game, but Kyler Murray also runs the ball very effectively. That said, this is a major key for each team to come out with the win on Sunday.
Coming off a bye week, I think the Seahawks come out strong in this one. I will take the -3.5 spread and the over 55.5 total points.
I believe a lot of points will be scored in this game. My score prediction is 33-27, Seahawks.
DeAndre Hopkins is primed for a huge bounce-back performance in this game. This match-up has all the implications of a shootout, so start all of your fantasy players from both teams.
