Week 2 is officially in the books, and despite Drew Brees not respecting my gambling record and putting up a dud in Vegas, I have finally righted the ship. Week 2 started with a 3-0 performance on Thursday Night Football, so let’s hope that trend will extend into Week 3 with tonight’s match-up between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

MIAMI DOLPHINS @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (Thursday 8:20pm)
Spread: Jags -3
Money line: Jags (-155), Dolphins (+135)
If you had told anyone (besides NZI’s own Erik Hindenburg in his latest game preview) that the Jaguars would be going into Week 3 at 1-1 after beating the Colts and taking the Titans down to the wire, I think you would’ve been laughed out of the conversation.
It appeared in the offseason that the Jags were going into full tank mode after getting rid of Jalen Ramsey mid-season last year, giving the reigns to Gardner Minshew after shipping Nick Foles to Chicago, and moving on from star pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue and former first-round pick Leonard Fournette.
Despite the outward appearance of tanking before the season, the Jags have actually looked very good in their first two games. From a gambling perspective, the Jaguars are a hot team that you should keep riding. They’re 2-0 against the spread this year, and have hit the over in both games. Gardner Minshew has continued to prove he is an NFL-caliber QB. I can’t see this game being incredibly entertaining, but at least you can win some money.
