I did not disappoint on the “must-read” label for my Week 2 picks! After a very mediocre Week 1, I was on a bit of heater this week.
Let’s hope this trend continues for the rest of the season, and I can count making you guys rich during a pandemic as a public service.
Week 2 Record: 30-14-1
Week 2 Units: +7.01
YTD Record: 50-37-3
YTD Units: +1.69
*Below lines based on Bovada 9/21*
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS @ LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (Monday 8:10pm)
Spread: Saints -6 (-105), Raiders +6 (-115)
Money line: Saints (-250), Raiders (+210)
The Raiders in prime time with no camera shots panning to the Black Hole, is going to be very disappointing. I think their opening game at the newly-built Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is also going to be very disappointing. Despite a great Week 1 showing for the Black & Silver, they’re coming across a Saints team that just wins games. Since 2017, the Saints are 10-3 against the spread as a road favorite (best in the NFL over that span) and I don’t see that trend stopping. The interesting play here is the over. New Orleans was 7-5 on hitting the over as a favorite last season, but they were 3-1 as a road favorite, so I’m hoping that trend continues.
PICKS: Saints -6, Saints ML, over 48.5
That will wrap up Week 2. It has been suggested that I throw together a “Gambling for Dummies”-type write-up, which I am hoping to get out to you with Week 3’s Thursday Night picks.
