Fantasy Impact: Tennessee Titans A.J. Brown Ruled Out

A.J. Brown. Wide receiver for the Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars week 12 of the 2019 NFL season

Adjust your fantasy lineups early fantasy owners, because Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown has been ruled out for this Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Coach Mike Vrabel announced his playing status Friday after practice. Adam Schefter reported previously on Thursday that he missed practice, after he was a limited participant Wednesday; and was jeopardizing his availability for Sunday and possibly longer. He’s likely to be listed week-to-week because of this injury.

Brown is the number one receiver for the Titans. He caught five-of-eight targets for 39 yards against the Broncos on Monday night; which were tied for the most on the team with Corey Davis. Khalif Raymond, listed as the number four receiver on the depth chart behind Brown, will likely be his replacement when they go three wide. And Adam Humphries will replace him on early downs.

From a fantasy perspective, I think tight end Jonnu Smith will see more targets this week. Smith caught four of his seven targets, tied for third on the team with Adam Humphries, for 36 yards and a touchdown last Monday night. Derrick Henry will get his carries since the offense runs through him. I think Smith should be started in all fantasy leagues. And Corey Davis is worthy of a flex play in PPR leagues with 12-14 teams. He’s listed as questionable, though he may not replicate the same performance he had against the Broncos. He’s been a limited participant in practice all week.
